Financial Counselling is the process by which trained financial counsellors offer support, information, advocacy and negotiation on behalf of our clients

Financial counsellors recognise that often, debt occurs as a result of a life crisis, as well as fixed and low income earners being encouraged to over-extend themselves financially by providers of credit

Financial Counsellors offer FREE, confidential and independent support to those seeking help with their financial matters

Why do people need financial counselling?

People can find themselves in debt for a number of reasons, generally not related to their own money management

CQ Financial Counselling Service is also a State Penalties Enforcement Register (SPER) Hardship Partner

 We support individuals with SPER debt to reduce their debt by undertaking financial counselling or financial literacy education sessions
